Rick McMullin, 36
bitHeads, inc., Vice-president/co-founder
Biggest achievement: Co-founding a company that went from three guys in a basement to being a stable, profitable company with multimillion-dollar revenues.
Best skill: Patience
Most admired businessperson: Steve Jobs mainly because he derived success through innovation.
Biggest business lesson learned: The most important lesson for me was that you cannot underestimate the importance of sales. Without sales, you have nothing. This is pretty obvious, but to take it one step further, there are many things that contribute to being successful at selling and many of these things are internal to your company. For example, having excellent employees that enjoy their work and having a fun working environment.
Favourite charity: CHEO
Professional recognition that would mean the most: Having a great group of employees who let us know that they enjoy coming to work every day.
