2004 ALUMNI RECIPIENTS

Randall Hughes, 39

Amiga Inc., Vice-president sales and strategic alliances

Biggest achievement: Made it through the great 2Kx tech implosion in one piece.

Best skill: An uncompromising belief in a cause and one heck of a sense of humour.

Most admired businessperson: Steve Jobs at Apple for his vision and marketing skills. The ability to take something old and make it new again

Biggest business lesson learned: The most important business lesson I have learned in my career is that there are far too many important lessons to be learned. History may well teach us of the future, however, business still comes down to trust and value. Marketing and salesmanship are wasted unless trust is a large part of the equation.

Favourite charity: CHEO

Professional recognition that would mean the most: Achievement without recognition would be the greatest honour of all. Achievement is derived from team effort, the sum of the parts. Recognition should be focused on the team and its task. A well-recognized brand would mean the world to me and my partners.
